Abstract:
Purpose: This research aimed to evaluate the effect of the motivational factors on the performance of employees in Bahraini Governmental Hospital and was conducted at the King Hamad University Hospital. The factors considered in this study were incentives & rewards, career development, recognition & appreciation, job security and work environment.
Design/Methodology: A cross-sectional survey design was used for the study and a survey monkey online questionnaire with the link was used to collect the responses. Respondents were asked to evaluate their agreement or disagreement with the question items provided using a five-point Likert scale. The collected data was analysed based on the pre-defined hypothesis using the statistical Package IBM SPSS.
Findings: The overall results presented that motivation has a significant impact on the performance of employees. The findings indicated career development, job security, recognition & appreciation and work environment showed a significant effect on the employee’s performance whereas incentives & rewards had no significant impact on the performance of employees. Recommendations were made to the HR management, employees and future researchers based on the findings.
