Abstract :
Islamic retail banking sector is highly important for the economics of the Kingdom of Bahrain. However, employees in this sector have revealed a level of unsatisfactory with their jobs.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors associated to job satisfaction among employees in the selected Islamic retail banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Approach: The study is a quantitative method using questionnaire survey applying five-point Likert scale as a measurement of respondents answers. The data were collected from 166 employees within three banks in the sector. SPSS was used to analyzed the data collected. The study investigated the impact of Demographic Characteristics on Job Satisfaction. In addition, it investigated the association between Intrinsic and Extrinsic Factors with Job Satisfaction
Findings: The Demographic Characteristics “Gender” and “Marital Status” have no significant impact on job satisfaction. However, “Educational Level”, “Working Position”, “Age” and “Working Experience” have a significant impact on job satisfaction. Intrinsic and Extrinsic Factors have a significant positive association with Job Satisfaction.
Value: The study findings will help Islamic Retail Banks to better understand Job Satisfaction and factors associated to it. That will help in improve employees’ Job Satisfaction and get the valuable outcome of it.
