Abstract :
Organizations are continuously looking for ways to cope with challenges in the current business world, so it is imperative that staff of an organization to be satisfied at work and personal life as well (Peters & svan der Lippe, 2007). The field of Work-life balance is an emerging field of research as many studies indicate. However, in Bahrain, not much attention has been given to this field. A study revealed that work life balance within the region is very low compared to global (Maceda, 2012). This study measures the association of three factors toward work-life balance, namely, workload, job engagement, and perceived organizational support. A purely quantitative research method is used via a survey to collect the data. A sample of 293 respondents from retail bank employees has been collected. The results show that workload and perceived organization support do have an effect work-life balance, but job engagement does not have a significant effect. Work-life balance has been measured to average about 3.10/5 from the sample for retail banks employees in Bahrain. Some demographic factors have showed a significant difference in work life balance average such as age, number of children, and position level in the organization, while other demographics such as gender, marital status, nationality, educational level and working experience did not show any difference between their groups.
