ABSTRACT:
This project aims to develop nonlinear optical properties archive of the investigated organic material Phthalocyanine (Pc) derivatives. In this study, four different Pcs were used (PcCo, PcCu, PcMn, PcSi) with a concentration of 5 × 10−5 𝑀. The samples’ absorbance was measured in order to quantify the spectral linear absorption coefficient (alpah(lamda)) and to gain insight into the absorption behaviour for a range of wavelengthsfrom 300-1000 nm along with their fluorescence spectra. The nonlinear optical properties of the different Pcs derivatives were investigated using a single beam Z-scan technique with the help of a continuous laser at 488, 514.5 and 632.8 nm and a pulsed laser at 532 nm. The nonlinear absorption coefficient, sign and the magnitude of the nonlinear refractive index and the third-order susceptibility were evaluated. The investigation of the optical limiting behaviour, based on the nonlinear absorption, was performed for the samples for the same wavelengths and the value of the threshold was estimated for all the samples. The investigated samples’ results show their potential to be used as optical limiters.
