This study aimed at identifying the impact of a counseling program in the development of self-confidence among students with learning difficulties in the primary schools of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study used a quasi-experimental method following the pre-post test design for both the experimental and the control groups. The study used the measure of self-confidence prepared by the researcher which consists of seven sub- scales, as well as a counseling program designed by the researcher which consists of twelve 60-minute a counseling sessions.
The study sample consisted of 40 students with learning difficulties studying in the fifth and sixth primary grades who were randomly selected from one of the public schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain with a coordination with the teacher of the special education. The subjects were randomly grouped into two groups with (20) students in each group. Homogeneity between the two groups regarding class, achievement, age and economic level has been assured.
