Summary:
This study aimed to recognize the most important counseling needs for the juvenile delinquents and their families in the Social Observation House in the Eastern province in Saudi Arabia, during the second term 2013-2012, for 61 students and their families. They were chosen randomly 67% among the total of the juvenile delinquents. On the juvenile delinquents the researcher used "the counseling needs standard for the juvenile delinquents". Also, he used the counseling needs standard on juvenile delinquents' families. He used the descriptive (comparative) approach to recognize the most important counseling needs for the juvenile delinquents and their families in social Observation House and to recognize the differences between the counseling needs for the juvenile delinquents and their families in order to prove the aims of this study which give the following result:
• The most important counseling needs for the juvenile delinquent were the social needs first, and then the psychological needs, then the health needs, and finally the academic needs.
• The most important counseling needs as the juvenile delinquents' families recognize were the academic needs first, followed by the psychological needs, then the social needs, and finally the health needs.
• There are no statistically significant differences between the counseling needs on the juvenile delinquents and the needs on their families except in academic needs for the sake of the juvenile delinquents' families at the level of significance of 0.01.
• There was no effect for the factors: the duration of stay in the House Social Observation, the age of student, and the grades level on counseling needs for the juvenile delinquent.
• There was no statistically significant effect for these factors: the relative relationship, educational level, the occupation of the juvenile delinquents' families on the counseling needs, except the occupation that affects the social needs for the juvenile delinquents' families at the level of significance of 0.05.
