The importance of research:
The importance of this research lies in the following points:
-1- Knowing the importance of the right of coastal states to the maritime areas of the Red Sea in light of the Geneva Convention of 1958, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982, and the principles of international law established in the United Nations Charter.
-2- Insight into the importance of the restrictions imposed on the authorities of coastal states in the maritime areas under their jurisdiction.
3- Explaining the importance of the jurisdiction of coastal states over foreign ships present in their territorial sea.
-4- Analysis of the legal nature of the coastal states on their internal and territorial waters, the area adjacent to the territorial sea, the exclusive economic zones, their continental shelf, the high seas area, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the protection of the marine environment.
5- Explaining the importance of the elements that harm the peace and security of the riparian states, their political independence and sovereignty over their territories, and the violation of their rights.
6- Reviewing the security and environmental reasons that led to the current and potential future tension and instability in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea coasts, and the resulting effects on the rights and interests of the countries bordering the Red Sea and the interests of the international community as a whole.
7- Clarifying the process of regulating innocent passage in the territorial sea of coastal states, the importance of transit passage in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the restrictions imposed on it in accordance with the rules of international maritime law.

10- Highlighting the importance of preserving the marine resources and environment of the coastal states of the Red Sea, and how to cooperate between them, and knowing the importance of scientific research and hydrographic survey, protecting the facilitation of maritime navigation, protecting cables and pipelines submerged in the bottom of the exclusive economic zones and the bottom of the continental shelf, and explaining the drilling and establishment of artificial islands, facilities and installations in the marine areas and explaining the importance of exploiting the seabed and oceans beyond the territorial jurisdiction of the coastal states as a common heritage of humanity.
