الملخص الإنجليزي
Abstract: Purpose: The study aims to measure the existence, awareness and impact of six proposed drivers on highlighting creativity and innovation to develop employee's performance in public and private sector organizations in Bahrain, namely experimentation, feedback, motivation, learning, responding to low performers, and budget constraints. The study provides sufficient information to give a clear picture of most important topics of creativity and innovation. . Design/ Methodology/ approach: A primary quantitative approach is used to collect data through a survey questionnaire. Probability sampling by using the convenient sampling technique. The target population for this study mainly consists of employees at all levels (managers, department heads, and employees) working in the public and private organizations in Bahrain. . Results: The results indicate that all of these drivers have a significant positive impact on highlighting the creativity and innovation on developing employee's performance. Experimentation and motivation have the greatest impact, and the least impact was the budget constraints. This study shows that there is a high degree of awareness of creativity and innovation drivers in all organizations. There is a great convergence between the existence, impact and awareness of creativity and innovation drivers among public and private sector employees in Bahrain. Concentrating on employees rather than management and the organization might lead to greater innovation returns. . Research limitations/ implications: This study is limited to accurately clarifying the impact of creativity and innovation motivators on developing employee performance due to the large size of the selected population and the multiple categories of drivers for employees, managers, or the organizations. To stimulate creativity and innovation in public and private sectors, it necessary to focus on employee drivers such as experience, motivation, and learning, because they have a significant impact on the occurrence of creative and innovative activities. . Practical implications: It was found that employees' awareness of the drivers for creativity and innovation has a clear role in spreading them in the organization. Also, experimentation and motivation are the drivers that have the highest impact on the occurrence of creative and innovative activities in public and private sector. . Originality/value: This study attempts to propose a formula for the most prominent drivers affecting creativity and innovation in developing employee performance in Bahraini public and private organizations. Having a final formula of these drivers would be a great addition to public sector organizations, especially when compared to the private sector. . Recommendation: Preparing future studies that focus on involving employees in implementing creativity and innovation drivers because employees are the basis of the innovative process for developing performance in organization. Working with employees to find other factors that stimulate creativity and innovation, such as creating awareness and a culture of creativity among employees, placing them in an environment that encourages creativity, and involving them in various innovative competitions. . Keywords: creativity and innovation, drivers, employee performance, awareness, impact, public and private sector.
