Abstract :
Self Efficacy and its relation to problem-solving skills among secondary school students in Dhahran province, Saudi Arabia
The study aimed to identify self efficacy and its relationship with the skills to solve problems among students in secondary school district Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and to achieve the objectives of the study were applied measure of the effectiveness of self: preparation of Hisham Abdullah and Essam El Akkad (2008), and the measure of skill to solve problems of preparation measure fair Hamdi (1998), and that the sample consisted of 235 students of secondary high school in Dhahran province.
Through the use of the descriptive and statistical methods, the study resulted in the following findings : -
1- The existence of a relationship statistically significant correlation between the effectiveness of self- and problem-solving skills in a sample study, the significance level (0.01).
2- The presence of statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) on a scale the effectiveness of self- study sample due to the variable area of study for students of specialization legitimate, as well as the presence of statistically significant differences between the respondents on a scale the effectiveness of self- attributed to the classroom (first/second/third).
3- unpredictable skillfully solve problems through self- effectiveness of the study sample as the effectiveness of students' self- interpreted (0.423) and came value (v) (11.897) which is significant at the significance level (0.01).
The study's recommendations, including: preparation courses in the development of self-efficacy in students by educators, in addition to the design of training programs for the development of students' abilities in all aspects, especially in their ability to solve problems.
