English Abstract
Abstract : Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating influence of Human Resource Practice on facilitating the relationship between Digital workplace Transformation and Employee Engagement through the adoption of four certain practices; Human Resource Planning, Performance Appraisal, Training and Development, and Workplace Environment management. Design/Methodology/Approach: An empirical investigation based on a quantitative method was used to conduct the study. The primary data has been collected using a structured questionnaire, designed mainly depending on non-comparative scales techniques, and distributed via social media applications. A sample size of 320 employees working in the Telecommunications sector has participated in the study. A Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used to test the research hypotheses through different structural equation tests. Finding: The results of the study shows that Human Resource Practices; Human Resource Planning, Performance Appraisal, Training and Development, and Workplace Environment Management have a moderating role on facilitating the relationship between Digital Workplace Transformation and Employee Engagement. Research limitations/implications: The absence of a professional intake of findings acquired from a human resource manager. A follow-up study of more variables that may influence employee engagement during digital workplace transformation. For example variables like self-efficacy, leadership style, work stress, and job satisfaction, can be explored to build a holistic understanding of the success of digital workplace transformation. Practical implications: Organization’s policies developers should carefully design, implement, evaluate and upgrade HR practices during organizational change; i.e. adopting a digital workplace, to address employee engagement level. Originality/value: The findings provide evidence that human resource practices in the Telecommunications sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain are facilitating the digital workplace transformation experience while enhancing employee engagement.
