English Abstract
Abstract : This study was aimed at first, identifying the Impact of Information Systems Performance on Internal User’s Satisfaction at Public Hospitals in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and second, examining the relationship between quality of Enabling Information System (EIS) and performance of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and the key factors that influence the performance of the HIS in KSA. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the qualitative and quantitative methods, employing the questionnaire survey tool. The study population consisted of all internal users of HIS at the hospitals in KSA. The study sample consisted of 474 nursing staff, administrative staff, doctors and all those directly involved in using HIS. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The researcher found that quality of variables examined, namely EIS, Service, Information, System, User Readiness's, Managerial competency, and End user satisfaction, have a significant and positive impact on the performance of hospital information systems. Additionally, there was a positive and significant effect of these variables on End User Satisfaction. The findings also revealed the health sector utilized an up-to-date hardware and software for their Hospital Information System (HIS). The study answered some questions related to the motivations of internal users on using HIS. For generalizability of findings, the researcher recommends that studies in the future look at other countries that adopt Hospital Information System to increase their performance.
