English Abstract
Abstract:
This study will highlight a recommendation that should be investigated, including
design interface which will help in getting a granular filter layer above the subgrade
in the pavement structure that might have a huge influence on road maintenance
costs owing to the subgrade layer's fragility. It will also provide the Ministry of
Work with a new suggested practical pavement to cure the internal instability or
weakness of the present subgrade layer, as well as effectively channel expenditure
to its economy. The influence of using a filter layer on numerous subgrade features,
on the other hand, will be explored.
Filter aggregates are composed of sand, gravel, or crushed rock. Aggregates
manufactured which can have high impact in preventing both piping due to fine
migration of subgrade particles and permeability to prevent water accumulating
below the pavement layers which will affect the stability of pavement structure and
cause several problems for it. Subgrade assessment should be done prior to using
filter layer . The decision should be taken whether the existing subgrade is
considered as suitable or unsuitable material based on several properties. Based on
the assessment the engineer can perform 2 main tests which are the sieve analysis,
and the plasticity index results which can be used as an input in the designed
interface to get the filter gradation curves.
The newly developed computer interface can be used as a website file designed by
a written code can be opened and used anytime using computer browser with
internet connect. The user will use the tests previously stated to get the subgrade
curve graph. Then, an inspection of the subgrade curve should be done by the user
