ABSTRACT: This research explores patients' perceptions of the information they receive during their hospital stay. It also explores doctors' and nurses' perceptions of the practice of information giving to patients. This descriptive study uses a combination of interviews and questionnaires as tools for the data collection. A convenience sample of 56 patients, 29 doctors and 40 nurses participated in the study. using health descriptive statistics and content analysis of patients' nurses and doctors' views, . The patients seemed initially satisfied when asked to rate their general perceptions about the information they had received but they were not satisfied with all the specific information they received about their examination, investigations, medication, operation, pre and post operative information, the ward routine and facilities. The findings also reveal that patients did not receive adequate discharge advice and that most patients needed more information about different aspects of their care.
