English Abstract
Abstract :
The purpose of the study: This thesis examines several factors such as the top
management support, involvement and motivation, corporate culture, trust and the effects of reward systems in the Bahraini markets to investigate whether Bahraini companies provide the appropriate settings that encourages their employees to share their knowledge.
Methodology: The study follows a primary research method, the data was captured using a questionnaire that was distributed a sample size of 214 by employees in Bahrain and later was analyzed using the Cronbach Alpha Test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis through SPSS.
Research Findings: Results showed that the involvement and motivation, organizational culture and trust were accepted and found to be positively significant and reflective on employee knowledge sharing. Top management support though negatively impacted, still showed a relationship with knowledge sharing. However, the reward system was rejected.
Research Limitation: Due to the Covid-19, reaching a large audience, doing one on one
questionnaire, interviews, observations and focusing on a specific sector were not allowed, therefore the study is of small size and general. However, to combat such problem, the respondents were distinguished by their responses due the industry classification question in the survey.
Practical Implications: This thesis helps top management to view and be aware of the importance of knowledge sharing and provides an understanding of the areas that needs to be focused on in order to accelerate their employee knowledge sharing element.
Originality & Value: The factors used in this thesis had been previously used in other
thesis, journals and researches, some of the factors were used to test knowledge management all around the world and even in the Kingdom of Bahrain, however, none were up to date, and therefore this thesis will highlight and find out the current knowledge management and sharing situation in Bahrain.
Recommendation: More in-depth research needs to be conducted regarding each industry and preferably within each individual company, or a bigger sample size if the new studies decide to use the exact approach as followed in this thesis.
