English Abstract
The Effectiveness of Dramatic Activity in Achevement of
Third Level Elementary Students The Linguistic Structures and Developing Their Attitudes Towards The Arabic language subject
Abstract:
The objective of this study is to know the effect of using dramatic activity in teaching linguistic structures for third level elementary students and develop their attitudes to Arabic language subject.
Two questions were raised in this study:
1 What is the effect of using an dramatic activity of linguistic structures on developing skills of third level elementary students compared with an existing traditional method?
2- Does teaching linguistic structures using dramatic activity for third level elementary students, develop positive attitudes to Arabic language subject compared with students studying lingual components using traditional method?
To answer these two questions, the researcher developed a group of dramatic situations to include linguistic structures, which are taught in third level elementary class. (27) third level elementary class students as experimental group and another (27) as controlled group were chosen.
The researcher used experimental model for post-measurement for two groups, experimental and controlled, though which an independent of variable (teaching linguistic structures using dramatic activity) was inserted for experimental group of students, while controlled group was taught in an traditional method, popular in teaching linguistic structures. When teaching was over, post test and attitudes criteria were applied on the two groups where the difference in the two groups performances reflected the effect of teaching using dramatic activity.
Findings can be summarized as follows:
1. A statistical variance exists at (0.05) between means of experimental and controlled groups individuals in the post linguistic structures collection test favoring experimental group individuals.
2- A statistical variance exists at (0.05) between means of experimental and controlled groups individuals in the post application of attitudes criteria of Arabic language subject favoring experimental group individuals.
Based on the findings, the researcher recommends to adopt dramatic activity method in teaching linguistic structures and train teachers to use it. Also to provide teachers with pre-tested models for dramatic activities to help them use dramatic activity method in teaching. The researcher also recommends to study the effect of using dramatic activity as an educational tool to help in teaching other linguistic sections such as composition, dictation and reading for first elementary classes. She also recommends to research the effect of using dramatic activity on developing skills of students who are at lower level of elementary education.
