English Abstract
ABSTRACT :
This research paper titled AbdulqahirAljurjaniin the eyes of modern Arabic criticism: paradigms and approachesdiscusses Aljurjani in terms of his modern sense, critical, and rhetorical views which still exist in the spirits of these days' rhetorical critics. Such exceptional opinions have been revived by the contemporary schools of criticism. This research aims to associate some of the contemporary terminology with what Aljurjanipointed outand emphasized on in the Eleventh Century A.D. and shows some of the features that critics have evoked from Aljurjani's legacy and how they received this heritage. The research covers this without squeezing Aljurjani 'sviews in theories they don't belong to.
The research consists of an introduction and three chapters. The introduction discusses the new reader-response theory which first originated in Germany, its precursors, and the old origins for audience-response. Then, the first chapter talks generally about the reader in the critical and eloquent literary heritage and how important they were. After that, the discussion becomes more specific about the reader in Aljurajani's point of view to whom he gave specialconsideration-where he explained the characteristics of the reader and gave instructions to guide them through distinguishing what good wordingis and what isn't.
After that, the discussion in the second chapter progresses to Aljurjani's view of the reader's perception of imagination where thewriter's innovation combines inharmonious elements and recreates a new invented image for the reader. This imagination originates from the subtle observation of the creative writer to approach it to the expert reader's mind which is stimulated by the implicitness of the text which consequently leads the readerto eliciting the embedded hidden message of the text when the effect happens and dominatesthe response emerges.
Finally, the third chapter covers some of the traditional terminology such as poetic plagiarism and how the new critics consociated it with intertextuality, the influenceof the remaining knowledge of the creative writerthat is reflected in their new texts, and how thewriter's intellectual repertoire affects their production. The research specifically highlights Aljurjani's position in this regard and how he gainsaid plagiarism from the writer if they borrowed fromthe resource text creatively and that this creativity reflects the role of theirinner skillful reader and how they could convert the text from a cliché text to a new innovated one. In addition to that, this chapter talks overthe issue of alteration which has been called in today's criticism displacement. It also covers topics which Aljurjani considered as different types of eloquent displacement such as metonymical, figurative, metaphorical, andimagery displacement.
